On the first day of Cardigan, I came to the High School on Sunday and almost everyone was there already! Alice and Gemma were excited to see me, and we played with a fluffy plant until the bus came (pretty late.) On the bus, we were pretty quiet and I drew a picture of Alice drawing. When we got there, I was partnered up with the counselor Meara, and my trail group was Kingston, Indy, Emma, Michael, Leif, and I. (And Michaels dad, as a chaperone.) Things we saw around the trail that were cool; a baby snake/small salamander, The cucumber of the forest edible root, and a lot of cool mushrooms. We went on the back 80/manning trail, and I got to hold the map. We named ourselves the Velcro Minion Spaghettis: Velcro because we stick together, Minion because it was on Kingstons backpack, and Spaghetti because our counselor was named Meara (like Marinara sauce.) I brought my camera, and I took about 100 photos and videos! Near the end of the hike, after lunch, we visited a very pretty spot called Welton falls. We dipped our faces in, and because of the 70 degree weather, it felt super nice. When we were almost done with the hike, we visited another small waterfall that we ended up throwing rocks in and having a lot of fun! Even though we got back last, I was happy to see my friends again and was half asleep on the bus ride home.
Day 1: I think this one matches Human/Environment interaction
because I talk about how I found the cucumber of the forest and tried eating it. I pulled out around 2-3 different plants out of the ground to eat, and that impacts the forest, therefore representing human/environment interaction. Our group also dipped our faces into the river, probably releasing some oils and taking some water out of the river. The third thing that I think represents human-environment interaction was also the weather, which was around 60/70 degrees. It impacted us because I barely ever took out my sweatshirt to wear because of how hot it was.
The pictures below are ones I took on my personal camera during the trip. The second one is where we had lunch!
